Its Monday! What are you Reading? (3)

This is a weekly meme hosted by Shelia at Book Journey. Last week due to the mass amount of reading for school I had to start I did not get to finish Linger, OR Shadow Kiss, although I am a chapter away from Shadow Kiss, so I guess that sort of counts, lol!

This past week I did not even pick up a book that wasn't school related! So it was a very boring week regarding books. Although I did get a very nice surprise on Thursday morning when an order from Chapters/Indigo was delivered and in side was so much anticipated books!! So this week I will definitely be reading something other than "Introduction to Archaeology" or "Medieval and Renaissance Cultures" lol!

This Week:

"Silence" by Becca Fitzpatrick

"The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for—and their love—forever."

This has been teasing my for the past 4 days! I am finally far enough into my essays and readings that I can take a day or two to FINALLY read "Silence"

P.S. I have finally come further into the blogging world, and have gotten the blog a BUTTON!! Below is what it looks like , and it can be found on the right hand side of the blog along with a "like" button for Facebook and "follow" button for twitter. I would love to get more followers on either site, and depending on which site reaches 100 "likes" or "followers" first there will be some awesome giveaways! It'll be my first giveaway and I am excited so lets see how far we can get! :)

I would also like to bring attention to Celise Winter who made the button. She offered to make it and she has done a spectacular job. Her blog is: Incandescent Enchantments.

Thank you to all who already follow! YOU ALL ARE FABULOUS!

Book Trailer: "The Iron Knight"

Well fellow bloggers and followers it is that time of year in the book world where many awaited publications are finally come due! Just last week "Silence" by Becca Fitzpatrick was released (a very long anticipated released for this obsessed fan) :) Although in lieu of that release I went on the search for some new widget countdowns and book trailers. I have fantastically stumbled upon "The Iron Knight" so soon to be released and I thought why not! So in just 2 short weeks we will all be reunited with Prince Ash, Puck, Ironhorse, and of course Grimm.

ENJOY! :)

PS: Stay tuned later on for my "In My Mailbox" post! :) I have had a great haul recently!

Waiting on Wednesday (9)

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by "Breaking the Spine" were bloggers can post their anticipated upcoming publications!

I think this week was a definite no brainer of what I want to be anticipating for release in 2012. I feel like all the books I've been looking forward too this year so far are finally at their released date or are soon to be released (just in time for Christmas !! haha).

"Insurgent" by Veronica Roth
expected released date: May 28th 2012
by: Harper Collins
(please click on title for more information)

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love...

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful...

My Book Boyfriend (2): Patch Cipriano

"Boys in books are just better. Right? lol" ... The meme, Book Boyfriend is brought to us by the fabulous author of "The Unread Reader" Missie. Here is how it works:

Here is how My Book Boyfriend works:
  1. On Wednesdays, make a post about a fictional boy that totally made you swoon! In your post, make sure you include your book boyfriend's stats, a picture of what you imagine he looks like and some quotes from him that had you at hello. Credit the book and please include page numbers when you can.
  2. Grab the My Book Boyfriend button to include in your post.
  3. Be sure to come back here and add the DIRECT link to your post on the Mr. Linky Widget that will be provided here on Wednesdays.
  4. Don't forget to check out other people's My Book Boyfriend posts. Everyone that agrees to participate will try to visit others and leave comments. Bloggers love comments.
  5. Anyone is welcome to join at anytime, but no one is obligated to participate every week.
  6. In your post provide a link back to this My Book Boyfriend introduction post so that other people can find the information about participating.
This meme is just for fun! Likeness represented are all fictional fantasies. Now go get your post ready for Wednesday. I'm totally looking forward to showing off my book boyfriend. Are you? Go on, earn your bragging rights. ;)

Patch Cipriano:  Becca Fitzpatrick the author of "Hush, Hush," "Crescendo," and now "Silence" has brought us the decadently delicious Patch (Jev) Cipriano. Fallen angel turned guardian angel turned rouge guardian angel, Patch is your all around american bad boy. With a streak of suggestive wit, a motorcycle, and of course a pair of combat boots this boy has every girl swooning over him at CHS (the high school he attends) specifically the strong headed, innocent Nora Grey (but we are definitely not hear to talk about her, lol). He brings an entirely new meaning to dark and drop dead gorgeous; and of course our bad boy wouldn't be complete without knowing his way around a pool cue, or poker table. With black slightly wavy hair, black intense eye's and a body you could literally melt into, he has no short comings. Always styled in black jeans, black boots and the usual tight t-shirt or sweater, Patch leaves nothing to the imagination. Although as readers quickly learn Patch is not your typical average teenage boy, of course he has to be immortal to boot! An angel of sorts he protects Nora from basically everything, especially himself. But, surprisingly we learn in "Crescendo" he has a romantic side, and will do anything for the girl of his desires, nothing but short of becoming a Rouge Guardian Angel just to be with her.

So to re-cap, our boyfriend of the week Patch Cipriano (real name Jev), has the dark, mysterious past, with a cocky suggestive attitude, black tight fitting jeans, abs you could do laundry on, and eye's so intense you can't help but melt into a puddle at his feet. I think this one definitely deserves a twice over if you know what I mean girls ;)

Note: The actor I have chosen is Ian Somerhalder (from Vampire Diaries). Now I know that he is far to old to be patch but his over all attitude and look screams Patch, although I have included one photo of the actual model for the cover, Drew Doyon. Enjoy!

Swoon Worthy Quotes:
Patch: "Say, 'provoking' again. Your mouth looks provocative when you do"
"Hush, Hush" - Becca Fitzpatrick

Patch: "All this time I've hated myself for it. I thought I'd give it up for nothing. But if I hadn't fallen, I wouldn't have met you"
"Hush, Hush" - Becca Fitzpatrick

Nora: "If you can't feel, why did you kiss me?"
Patch: "Because I feel it here, in my heart. I haven't lost the ability to feel emotion"
"Hush, Hush" - Becca Fitzpatrick

Patch: "There's all kinds of right," he murmured. "On the spectrum we're still in the safe zone." ... "Definitely right. Usually right," Patch continued. "Mostly right. Maybe right."
"Hush, Hush" - Becca Fitzpatrick (Sidenote: I picture him whispering this to Nora immensely closer than he should be, hehe)

Patch: "I have rules about who I take there" ... "Once you've gone inside, you have to keep coming back"
"Crescendo" - Becca Fitzpatrick

Patch: "You're safe with me," Patch murmured, caressing my arm.
Nora: "Where does this leave us?"
Patch: "Together" he lifted his eyebrows in question and crossed his fingers, as if begging for luck.
Nora: "We fight a lot"
Patch: "We also make up a lot." Patch reached for my hand and pushed my dad's ring off the tip of his finger and into my palm, curling my fingers around it. He kissed my knuckles ...
"Crescendo" - Becca Fitzpatrick (sorry had to cut this quote off it gives too much away about the beginning of the book)

Nora: "Don't ever leave me," I told Patch, hooking a finger in the collar of his shirt and pulling him close.
Patch: "You're mine Angel," he murmured, brushing the words across my jawbone as I arched my neck higher, inviting him to kiss everywhere. "You have me forever."
"Crescendo" - Becca Fitzpatrick

Annnnd of course we must have a shirtless or semi-shirtless photo ;) (He's wet also soooo it makes it ogle worthy lol)

Teaser Tuesday (6)

Teaser Tuesdays is a bookish meme hosted by Should Be Reading.
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share 2 "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:

"Patch buried his face in the curve of my shoulder, his hands flexing over my back. He gave a low groan, "I love you," he murmured into my hair."

"Crescendo" by Becca Fitzpatrick
Page 426

(Probably one of the best and worse moments in the entire second book in the "Hush Hush" series. I don't think throughout the entire book you get this much out of Patch as you do in 4 pages of the ending chapter. Absolutely fantastic!)

On My Wishlist (9)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

These past two weeks have been so hectic I am unhappy to express that I haven't even been able to pick up a book non school related! *sigh* Tis the life of a student, although also with the life of a student comes the ever boring lecture times when online shopping fills that void, and BOY! has my TBR pile been growing!

"Carrier of the Mark" - Leigh Fallon

"Their love was meant to be. When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRĂs. But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction."

"The Mark" - Jen Nadol

"Sixteen year old Cassandra Renfield has seen the mark since forever: a glow around certain people as if a candle were held behind their back. The one time she mentioned it to someone else, the mark was dismissed as a trick of the light. So Cassie has kept quiet, considering its rare appearances odd, but insignificant. Until the day she watches a man die. Mining her memories, Cassie realizes she can see a person's imminent death. Now how or where, only when: today. Cassie searches her past, her philosophy lessons, even her new boyfriend for answers, answers, always careful to hide her secret. How does the mark work? Why her? Most importantly: if you know today is someone's last, should you tell them?"

"Waterfall" - Lisa Tawn Bergren

"In Waterfall, American teenager Gabi Betarrini accidently finds herself in Fourteenth-Century Italy . . . Knights. Swords. Horses. Armor. And Italian hotties. Most American teens want an Italian vacation, but the Betarrini sisters have spent every summer of their lives there with their archaeologist parents. Stuck on yet another hot, dusty dig, they are bored out of their minds... until they place their hands atop handprints in an ancient tomb and find themselves catapulted into the Fourteenth Century and in the middle of a fierce battle between knights bent on killing one another."

"The Pledge" - Kimberly Derting

"In the violent country of Ludania, the language you speak determines what class you are, and there are harsh punishments if you forget your place—looking a member of a higher class in the eye can result in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina (Charlie for short) can understand all languages, a dangerous ability she’s been hiding her whole life. Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. There, she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy who speaks a language she’s never heard, and her secret is almost exposed. Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom…"
