in My Mailbox (2)

So this week I have reunited with the local Library and have picked up right where our love hate relationship left off. The books I want are usually taken out or have 2 or 3 holds on them so I must be very patient but I am anticipating many good reads are going to be in my future. Although for this week the library has not failed me in a quick response to my requests for some books that have been on my wish list for quite some time!

"Eon has been studying the ancient art of Dragon Magic for four years, hoping he'll be able to apprentice to one of the twelve energy dragons of good fortune. But he also has a dark secret. He is actually Eona, a sixteen-year-old girl who has been living a dangerous lie for the chance to become a Dragoneye, the human link to an energy dragon's power. It is forbidden for females to practice the Dragon Magic and if discovered Eon faces a terrible death"

I've been waiting to read this book for quite some time! The type of Asian orientated storyline is really intriguing to me and the fact the main character is a women really draws me to this novel as well, I love a good heroin in any novel. And of course the dragons; I absolutely love the thought of dragons, so mystical and beautiful but fierce. A truly oriental myth.

"Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight—she’s a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privilege, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king’s thug. When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change. She never expects to become Po’s friend. She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace—or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away . . . a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone."

Now this novel takes me into my own historical compass of Kings and Queens from the Medieval Era (one of my favourite era's). This novel takes a different type of storyline following the niece of the King not one of his own children. It has all the magical aspects of any good medieval tale hinting at a budding romance between Katsa and Po. Once again a strong heroin orientated novel; should be a spectacular read!

"Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father. To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?"

I am currently reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, so when I had received an email from the library to tell me City of Ashes was ready for me I could not withhold my excitement. The first book I can not put down right now, I am hardly able to write this post! Although when I read what this book was about I sort of had an inkling about her father but no inkling about Jace being her BROTHER! Ah! Totally thought they were going to become and item! But there is still another book so I'm hoping all will be explained. Cassandra Clare once again has enchanted my mind off into the Shadowhunters world, and I must admit I am in love with it! Fabulous!

  2. I keep seeing Eona everywhere (the second book I think) and I've heard some good things about it so I can't wait to read Eon! And I haven't started the Mortal Instruments series yet, so I'm definitely not going to have it in my head they're going to be an item lol. And Graceling was SO GOOD. You'll love it. Happy reading ;)
