This week I decided to something a little more steampunk. I seem to go through trends every week with my Waiting on Wednesday posts - last week adventure fantasy, this week steampunk, so I thought who better to show case for my WOW than author Kady Cross!
The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross
Expected Publication: May 22, 2012
"In New York City, 1897, life has never been more thrilling - or dangerous."
"Sixteen-year-old Finley Jayne and her "straynge band of mysfits" have journeyed from London to America to rescue their friend Jasper, hauled off by bounty hunters. But Jasper is in the clutches of a devious former friend demanding a trade-the dangerous device Jasper stole from him...for the life of the girl Jasper loves."
"One false move from Jasper and the strange clockwork collar around Mei's neck tightens. And tightens."
Thoughts: Could there be a more perfect steampunk anticipation?! The title says it all; and my god look at that cover! Although I cannot take all the credit for this fantastic choice this week, as I was perusing around another blog, Fiktshun (amazing blog! If you haven't checked it out yet I HIGHLY suggest you do so!) they had this book show cased on their side bar as one of their covers they love, and how couldn't you just LOVE that cover! It is absolutely breathtaking, and incredibly inviting! It has the perfect mixture of Steampunk, Victorian, supernatural-esk, type of vibe. But putting the cover aside, the ploy synopsis is most definitely something I would desire reading! It has the perfect mixture of misfit rebellion along side adventure, and supernatural aspects and of course ROMANCE! I just can't ever get enough of the romance in books! I must say that my choice for this weeks "Waiting On Wednesday" definitely sated my hunger for a good Steampunk novel!
