"Boys in books are just better. Right? lol" ... The meme, Book Boyfriend is brought to us by the fabulous author of "The Unread Reader" Missie. This meme is just for fun! Likeness represented are all fictional fantasies. This meme happens every Wednesday although it is open to "link up" from Wednesday to Wednesday. I'm earning my bragging rights for this weeks Boyfriend, how about you? ENJOY!
IM BACK! Oh how I have missed you Book Boyfriend Wednesdays! But I am back and I am here to stay religiously! For a little while there I had lost my groove but I have just recently finished a fantastic ARC and I thought I would choose one of the luscious boys of Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood as my boyfriend for the week ;) Finn Belastra is his name he is new on the book boyfriend scene so do enjoy my very indulgent posting about him, hehe.

Finn Belastra: Introduced in Jessica Spotswood book, Born Wicked, Finn is the Cahill family gardener and local bookstore owners son. There were many things that had drawn me in to Finn, one being he always has a book on him, weither it is a pocket guide to gardening or a book about swash-buckling pirates, he always is reading, which is sexy in a guy! Finn is a gentle, and shy individual in the book, and as his friendship and romance grows with Cate Cahill, the eldest sister, he becomes a much stronger character. He is tall, well muscled, wiry framed gentleman, with cinnamon freckles scattered over his face and body, pair with copper coloured hair, and a pair of glasses. He screams bookworm and pulls at my heartstrings with every proper thing he says to Cate. This book does take place in the early or late 1800's in New England, so it is not quite England, but still a very proper era, with chaperoned walks in the park, and secretive stolen kisses here and there. Although the thing I like most about Finn is that Cate doesn't at first see him as a suitor, so we get to see who he truly is. He has a heart of gold, very protective as well (he carries an ankle gun), and he has this way of looking at Cate like she is the only one for him. He is willing to take exactly how she is, she does not have to always be proper and lady like around him, he will protect her and her sisters, and he will love her fully with every ounce of his being. He is truly a man in love, and a gentleman when the time calls for it. He may not be a drop dead gorgeous Prince, or mysterious Vampire, but Finn ... he is what we dream of when we're older - he is real (besides the fact he is a fictional character).
Stats:
- Tall, wiry framed
- Well muscled
- Copper hair
- Freckled
- Intelligent
- Gentlemanly
- Devoted
- Protective
- Bookworm!
NOTE: The photo's that I include are stills from the upcoming release of the Book Trailer! This individual plays Finn Belastra and I think is perfect besides not having copper hair, lol. There are only a few photo's of him, and the quotes are chosen specifically so they don't give too much away of the story seeing as this is an ARC related Book Boyfriend :)
Quotes:
Cate Cahill: "He reaches out to steady me, a book tumbling from his hand, and that's how I recognize him: Finn Belastra. Of course he would have his nose in a book, though how he can see to read in the dusk I don't know..."
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Cate Cahill: "How did he know I was crying? He can't see in the dark, and I never cry ... His thumb slips down over my cheek and rests softly, sweetly on the curve of my bottom lip"
Finn Belastra: "Its all right," he says. He's so close that this warm breath tickles my neck.
Cate Cahill: "My hands slide up his chest. My mouth reaches for his. Our noses bump in the dark, but Finn tilts his head sideways until his lips touch mine. They brush back and fourth, testing. Tasting. He waits, but I only press closer, and he reads that for the invitation it is."
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Cate Cahill: "Compassion and - something else, something that makes me feel as though it would be alriht with him if I did cry, or wail and throw things even. That he might not think any less of me. He pulls me into his arms, right there in front of his mother. He is braver than I am"
