Waiting on Wednesday (13)

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by "Breaking the Spine" were bloggers can post their anticipated upcoming publications!

So this weeks "WoW", actually took me by surprise. I went through my goodreads.com list of books that I want to read, and I don't remember adding this particular one, so I went over what it is about. I am such a fan of myths
especially Greek and Roman and this story just screams the myth of Persephone, so I am going to assume that is why I had added it to my "to-read" list. Sometimes that list is just too big to handle. (haha)

"Everneath" by Brodi Ashton
Expected Publication: January 24th, 2012
Publisher: Harper Collins/Balzer & Bray

"Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she's returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld... this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can't find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists."

"Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there's a problem: Cole, the smouldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen. As Nikki's time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she's forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole's..."

Thoughts:

Isn't this cover just to die for!! I absolutely love the smokey technique used to incorporate her dress and the smoke of the underworld, perhaps? I think that is what initially drew me in in the first place was the cover just how alluring it is, and then of course the storyline! Who doesn't love a heart wrenching love story where the love triangle consists of a human boyfriend Jack, and the king of the underworld Cole. I cannot wait if for only one thing, to see how Ashton describes these two boys of Nikki's heart - I am thinking for Cole, a devilish grin, slightly tanned, black hair, perhaps green eyes, very alluring (I am such a sucker for green eye's, hehe) - a girl can only hope he's that delicious! But, I digress, if you haven't already added this to your "to read" list, I highly suggest you do. Ashton looks to have one of the best sellers of 2012 on her hands!
